MUST BE THE HAIRLINE
Heh. nope, but with all that money he could have fixed that problem of his.
Although...
there are other important problems that he's facing right now than his hairline, winning game 6, the spurs defensive schemes (Pop is a Genius) and the pressure of being eliminated and be ranked as second again against the very same team that swept him back in '07 in which his haters will once again rejoice and celebrate as another setback in the King's career occurs, however, the last part isn't really a problem for the King, he do loves his haters as a matter of fact...
yes, that's him sharing his love for all wanna be haters(and some old dude in ESPN) giving them one day of fame and most of them are the so called "internet tough guys" using the blue bird to demonstrate their badassery to LeBron and his fans unleashing the beast in them, argument after argument. (though it's kinda entertaining at times)
So FINALLY! (The Rock voice)
you guys got my attention and had me into my laptop and type in this list of reasons why people hate the King (it's really in the finals or when heat are losing where they all swarm the social freaking media)
before you continue reading I am open to any comments and suggestions, however, I only accept constructive criticisms(not that I can really stop you from unintelligently doing so). This is an open minded list from my own perspective so if you're about to disagree and swear or type in the most hurting insults you can think of in this blog stop scrolling right now and make your own sh*t.
let us proceed.
5. Because everybody hates LeBron
Influence.
This goes for all the "NBA followers" who seasonally(ironic) get active during the playoffs, or as I call them the "overnight experts". When your best bud hate LeBron, he'd definitely hate him too, "we're bestfriends we stand together" (how sweet), when I ask a kid why he hates LeBron he'll reply "because big brother hates LeBron", simple as that, people see all over the world how the hatred towards LeBron James is growing and as a peer effect, they'll hate on him too. Some might just wanted to join the fray of the hate bandwagon, some just might wanna get along with the popular group(again, the hate bandwagon led by some old dude in ESPN) and some just might wanna get a girl in bed(which is a member of a hate bandwagon) although in pick up, teasing is highly recommended so you can use that LeBron hate of hers to your advantage *wink
4. He is a threat to your favorite player
An 18 year old kid from Ohio with the iconic number 23 jersey, drafted first and dropped 25 in his debut against not some mediocre team and everybody went crazy and then the comparisons came, "OH MY GOD HE IS THE NEXT MJ!" "KOBE WHO?" "THE KID CAN PASS! OMG HE'S GOT SOME MAGIC IN HIM!"
one debut game and everybody was crazy about the kid and as years pass, he was getting the attention(see number 3) and came '07 he got swept by the Spurs, couple of years later he wasn't getting in the finals.
This is when criticisms like "he's not clutch", "he'd pass a game winner", "choker" came in and the once excited "fans" had their feelings changed and started to jump on the now popular "anti-LeBron James movement", and that lost against Orlando and Boston during the playoffs in a team less popular before his arrival really solidified the foundation of the anti LBJ cult
which led him into.......

1. The Decision
Hi Cleveland fans.
The infamous interview, the 1 hour ESPN special in which the whole world "witnessed" the formation of a dynasty (as the fans would say) and for the haters, betrayal, a form of quitting, a spit in the face (and yes I am quoting Carlito) to the city of Cleveland, whatever. The ugly thing here is that it was televised and that wasn't actually a good move by LeBron or his sports agent perhaps, although he was a free agent and this signing didn't violate any laws however, the handling of this signing is one of the big reasons why more hate is generated towards LeBron than usual and led to Miami Heat being labeled as the most scrutinized team in the NBA and him representing the villainous image of it.
now the Miami Heat are in the brink of being eliminated, the haters love their chances of seeing LeBron fail once again. I am a LeBron fan and I'm not trying to convince anyone to love LeBron, this is just my thoughts and observations as I entertain myself by reading all the comment wars in the social media warzone, all the trash talking and the formation of the united nations team (Celtic, nation, Bulls nation, Laker nation, Pacer Nation, Knicks nation) embodied by the San Antonio Spurs.
I think it's quite unfair to a guy who's 28 and still has something to prove to be compared to someone that has already cemented his legacy in the league, people forget that 28 is still young in the NBA, there's still a lot of room for him to improve but yeah, he's gotta start now.
I am no sports journalist
I am no expert
I do talk trash at times but I make sure the SERIES is won, not just one game
and when it gets offensive it's either I'm talking to a close friend or my best friend
I'd love to see another ring for the King
but I give credit to all those teams that made it hard for the Heat
and I appreciate the game of basketball.

4. He is a threat to your favorite player
a threat to your Melo
a threat to your D Rose
a threat to your KD
and of course a threat to your Kobe Bryant (and MJ occasionally)
now before you go apesh*t and start a Jacob is better than Edward type of argument let me clear it out that I didn't say LeBron is better than your Idol, I've wrote it clearly that he is a threat as your idol is a threat to LeBron James.
Again, some fanatics just watch the game for the sake of seeing their favorite team and their idol win the game and when their team loses they hate the man who was the reason why their team lost the game, on some occasions, that hated guy is none other than LeBron James, and right know, there's no question that he is dominating the league right now (need to do that in the finals brah) they will eventually hate him, say bad things about him and definitely disrespect him and his game,
and oh, don't give me that "heat-fans-does-that-too!" look, not all heat fans do that, some love to see LeBron go toe to toe with some of the best players in the NBA and respect everybody's game(I personally love seeing him go against Kobe) and in case you were not paying attention this blog is about LeBron James so STFU.
3. Media attention
now this is on him and his agent but the guy knows how to market himself, he knows how to make connections, he was able to befriend influential individuals (Warren Buffet anyone?) and this led him to monickers made by sports journalists(King, Chosen 1), endorsements and guestings Nike, McDonalds (the remake of the MJ and Bird ad), Letterman, SNL, etc. this guy is a legit businessman and he didn't went to college (hmmm...) and since, the media show us a lot of LeBron James on TV, people started to think that the media gave him what the other NBA stars deserved. (I have a feeling that someone will insert Paul George into discussion) and the hate goes on which is exactly why I think he gets too much exposure because ticket sales will rise because hopeful haters wants to see LeBron lose, just my two cents.
Another fact is, he got into the land of the great comment warlords, yes, the social media which gives him more exposure as the mighty warriors of the comment war makes him more popular and the hate rebellion army of the Twitter and Facebook kingdom form allegiance to take down the King of south beach. lol.
2. People expected a lot from him
one debut game and everybody was crazy about the kid and as years pass, he was getting the attention(see number 3) and came '07 he got swept by the Spurs, couple of years later he wasn't getting in the finals.

Now this is one post, lol. Thank you for voicing my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI would have done it in reverse though. Haha. "Because everybody hates Lebron" last and the infamous decision first. Why? 1) Because true fans already know about the King's 1 hour ESPN special; 2) Because people just love their peers (and their peers' opinions) and; 3) Let's face it, people only start talking about the NBA when everybody else does.
I've been really pissed because of the negativity lately. These so called NBA fans and their beloved Spurs. (Talking about the bandwagon fans and the last-minute fans - traitors). Hating on THE HEAT.
Do not hate people. Never hate.
Just love basketball.
first of all I wanna thank you for noticing my page.
ReplyDeleteeither way, I just can't see a valid reason why a lot of people hate LeBron other than that list, some people might have their own and we can't change that.
I just consider myself lucky that I was able to "witness" someone like this guy who is very gifted and is capable of being great.
and that game 6 was crazy
